Abu Dhabi (HRNW)- The United Arab Emirates has announced the establishment of a new authority to allow direct public participation in government decisions. President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan unveiled the Community Managed Virtual Authority, which will be run entirely by Emirati citizens, including experts, youth, business people, and retirees on a rotational basis.
Selection for the authority will be based on competence, experience, and ability, rather than elections, with the goal of improving decision-making and strengthening trust between citizens and the government. This initiative addresses the UAEâs traditional lack of public participation in governance and aims to bring citizens closer to the decision-making process.
