Turkey Urges Diplomacy, Opposes Military Action on Iran Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Ankara (HRNW)- Turkey’s foreign minister said his country is observing that Israel is provoking the United States to launch a military attack on Iran, but Turkey is not in favor of any new war or instability in the region.

Turkey’s foreign minister said that peace and stability in Iran are of utmost importance to Turkey as the effects of rising tensions in the region could spread to all neighboring countries.

Expressing regret over the deaths during the recent protests in Iran, he said that the loss of human lives is a matter of concern and all parties should show restraint and responsibility.

According to the Turkish foreign minister, the resumption of negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program is essential to reduce regional tensions and only a diplomatic path can provide a lasting solution.

He said that Turkey strongly opposes any kind of foreign intervention in Iran and that regional problems should be resolved through dialogue rather than military force.
