Palghar, Maharashtra (HRNW)- An incident has come to light in the so-called Shining India that has shamed humanity. A young girl was sold for three lakh rupees. This heinous incident took place in Palghar district of Maharashtra, where a 20-year-old tribal girl was sold for three lakh rupees.
According to the report, a man from Nashik forcibly married the girl from the Katkari tribe in May 2024. Later, along with her mother, he sold her through brokers. The victim said that she escaped for her life and went to her hometown, where on the 6th of this month, the accused also tried to forcefully take the child away.
The woman alleged that after marriage, her husband and his family members physically and mentally harassed her and said that despite being pregnant, her husband attacked her and did not even provide her with proper food. The police have registered a case against four people and have started searching for the woman’s husband, mother-in-law and two pimps.
