Terror Handlers Radicalized Minor Girl via Social Media to Carry Out Attack in Karachi, Says Sindh CTD Chief

Karachi (HRNW) — Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Sindh Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Azad Khan, has revealed that terrorist handlers radicalized a minor girl through social media and sent her to Karachi to carry out a terrorist attack.

Addressing a press conference, AIG Azad Khan stated that on the night of December 25, a special operation was conducted based on sensitive intelligence reports, during which the minor girl was safely taken into protective custody.

According to the AIG, investigations confirmed that the girl had been influenced by anti-Pakistan and foreign-backed propaganda. She had been secretly using a mobile phone, through which a handler first contacted her under the pretext of sympathy and gradually incited her to carry out an attack.

Officials said the girl was sent to Karachi after lying to her family about her whereabouts. However, due to strict checking at police checkpoints, she was intercepted and taken to a police station, where authorities contacted her family.

In a recorded video statement, the girl said:

“I made an excuse to leave home, but now I realize the destruction I was heading toward. I am a Baloch, and our traditions teach us to respect women. Sacrificing women and girls is not Baloch culture. If someone tells you to die for a so-called greater cause, know that they are your enemy.”

The CTD stated that a full investigation is underway to identify the terrorist handlers and dismantle their network.
