Karachi (HRNW)– Syeda Tehseen Abidi, Spokesperson for the Government of Sindh, has strongly condemned the recently released Indian film Dhurandar, calling it a clear attempt to malign Pakistan and deliberately target the Pakistan Peoples Party through fabricated narratives and fictional portrayals. She stated that the negative depiction presented in the film reflects a disturbing trend in which art and cinema are misused as tools for political propaganda instead of promoting cultural understanding and regional harmony.

She said that it is deeply irresponsible for any film industry to distort facts, invent associations, and create misleading storylines that damage the image of another country or its political institutions. Such portrayals do not strengthen art; they only strengthen intolerance, hostility, and misinformation. These fictional narratives serve no purpose except to mislead the public and fuel unnecessary tensions between neighboring countries.

Syeda Tehseen Abidi emphasized that the Pakistan Peoples Party is a national, democratic, and people-centered political force whose legacy of service, struggle, and sacrifice is acknowledged across the country. No amount of false storytelling or propaganda-driven filmmaking can undermine the party’s historic role or its connection with the people of Pakistan.
She urged the Government of Pakistan and relevant international forums to take notice of this irresponsible approach and discourage such content that promotes division, negativity, and disrespect towards any nation. She added that cinema and media should be used to build bridges, not walls; to promote peace, not hatred; and to foster mutual respect, not political agendas.
Concluding her statement, she said that Pakistan remains committed to peace, stability, and constructive dialogue in the region. No cinematic propaganda can alter the truth or weaken Pakistan’s dignity, narrative, or global standing.
