Strong 6.4 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Papua New Guinea

Port Moresby (HRNW)- A strong earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale was felt in various parts of Papua New Guinea, causing panic among residents as people rushed out of their homes and offices after experiencing the tremors.

According to international news agencies and the Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 108 kilometers, with its epicenter located approximately 9 kilometers east of Haradh.

Officials have confirmed that no reports of loss of life or property damage have been received so far. Authorities also clarified that no tsunami warning has been issued despite the intensity of the quake.

It is worth noting that last week, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake was also recorded in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia, where stations of the National Earthquake Monitoring Network detected the tremors at 1:11:23 am.
