Rawalpindi (HRNW)- The government has significantly increased stamp paper fees, triggering strong public backlash and concern among citizens.
According to details, the minimum value of e-stamp paper has been raised from Rs 100 to Rs 300. The fee for divorce-related stamp paper has jumped from Rs 100 to Rs 1,000, while the domicile stamp paper required for school admissions and job applications has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 500.
Similarly, stamp fees for new electricity, domestic gas and water connections have been raised from Rs 100 to Rs 1,000. The property sale agreement e-stamp paper fee has increased from Rs 1,200 to Rs 3,000, while stamp paper for non-property agreements has been raised from Rs 100 to Rs 500.
Citizens have expressed serious concern over the sudden hike, calling it an additional financial burden on the common people.
