Karachi (HRNW)- The Annual Performance Report 2025 of the SSU (Special Security Unit) led by DIG Security Dr. Maqsood Ahmed has been released, which presents a detailed outline of the unit’s excellent operational and public services.
According to the report, SSU SWAT participated in several joint operations against terrorists, conducted immediate rescue operations in fire and building collapse incidents, and provided comprehensive security during 1400 visits and movements of sensitive personalities.
Foolproof security arrangements were made during important and major events across Sindh, including 42 major cultural and religious events, cricket events, ICC Champions Trophy, Tri-Nation Series and PSL-10 matches. Strategic deployment of snipers and SWAT teams was also made at sensitive locations.
The report also stated that SSU commandos provided round-the-clock security during the construction of the Kandhkot-Ghotki bridge, and training was also provided to other government institutions. SSU commandos received advanced training in counter-terrorism, VVIP protection and swimming courses, and also organized the 3rd Police Extreme Handgun Championship 2025, in which participants from across the country participated in four categories. The winners were also given medals, cash prizes and certificates.
Similarly, SSU performed brilliantly in the Sindh Police Games 2025, winning 9 trophies. The commandos successfully conducted mock exercises in sensitive offices and provided training on effective response in emergency and terrorist situations. Self-defense and H.E.A.T training sessions were also organized for the students.
During the heavy rains, the Urban Flooding Rescue Unit of SSU played a prominent role in public service. The SSU team also participated in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2025 of Dubai Police, while the IPO Pakistan delegation participated in the International IPO Congress Malta. Throughout the year, various delegations visited SSU headquarters and reviewed performance.
