Indonesia (HRNW) — A small regional passenger aircraft, ART 42-500, crashed in Indonesia this morning, killing all 11 people on board.
According to foreign media reports, the plane was carrying 3 passengers and 8 crew members. It had departed from Yogyakarta en route to Makassar, South Sulawesi, but lost contact with air traffic control approximately 12 miles from the airport area.
Preliminary reports indicate that wreckage of the aircraft has been spotted in the hilly region of Liang Liang, Maros District. Search and rescue teams were immediately dispatched, and operations are underway with the support of 60 personnel and experts to recover any possible survivors and retrieve debris.
