Situation Worsens at Gul Plaza Fire: Death Toll Rises, Rescue Operations Ongoing

Karachi (HRNW) — The situation at Gul Plaza has worsened following the devastating fire. According to rescue sources, another affected section of the plaza has collapsed, and the neighboring building has also been damaged, with its pillars warped due to the fire’s impact.

Rescue teams have entered most parts of the burned building, conducting search-and-rescue operations and debris removal. At the South Office of the Deputy Commissioner, a list of missing persons has been posted, and with 12 additional names, the total number of missing individuals has now reached 83. Rescue teams reported that 29 mobile phone signals are being received from around Gul Plaza, helping authorities make rescue operations more effective.

So far, the tragic fire has claimed 26 lives, of which 18 have been identified. Relatives of the missing have been instructed to submit their data and DNA samples at the Civil Hospital to expedite the investigation and identification process.

Officials emphasized that all possible measures are being taken during the rescue operations and to protect the affected buildings to prevent further damage.
