Sir Syed University Hosts SMEC’26 Closing Ceremony, Celebrates Student Innovation and Intellectual Excellence

Karachi (HRNW)- The closing ceremony of the Inter-University Speed ​​Mind Execution Competition (SMEC’26) organized by the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, was held, the aim of which was to provide an opportunity to talented students to express their mental and intellectual abilities in a competitive environment. Students from various universities of Karachi participated in the competitions enthusiastically.

The special guest of the event was Sir Syed University Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, while Brand Foundation Chief Executive Sheikh Rashid Alam attended as the guest of honor. Sir Syed University was also awarded the Brand of the Year Award on this occasion.

Addressing the event, Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan said that Speed ​​Mind Execution Competition is not only a means of expressing the mental and intellectual abilities of students but also plays an important role in promoting creative thinking, skills and mutual cooperation. He said that in a rapidly changing world, the importance of innovation and expertise has increased more than ever and SMEC provides the best platform for the youth to learn and progress through healthy competition.

Sheikh Rashid Alam, Chief Executive of Brand Foundation, said that acquiring knowledge alone is not enough, but the correct and timely use of knowledge to solve problems is the real success. He urged the youth to adapt to the demands of the knowledge economy.

Umair Sheikh, Chief Executive of Trend Micro, said that SMEC provides the best opportunity for students to showcase and test their skills. He highlighted the importance of cybersecurity and said that it is not just a job but a big responsibility.

Dr. Kashif Sheikh, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science and IT, advised the students to see challenges as opportunities for learning and growth and said that such events promote the spirit of innovation and cooperation among students from different universities.

Ayesha Urooj, Head of SMEC, highlighted the achievements of the competition in the last decade. At the end of the ceremony, shields were presented to the students who achieved success in various categories.

The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Iram Akbar Ali, Adil Askari, Dr. Jafar Nazir Usmani, Mohsin Kazim, Shahid Jamil and other distinguished personalities.
