Sindh Govt Orders FIRs and Arrests for Burning Garbage on Karachi Streets

Karachi (HRNW)- The Sindh government has announced that an FIR will be registered against those who burn garbage on the streets.

A meeting chaired by Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah decided that an FIR will be registered against those who burn garbage in the city. Karachi generates more than 14,000 tons of garbage, and only the Central District generates 3,000 tons of garbage per day.

Managing Director of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Tariq Ali Nizamani said that a meeting was held two days ago under the chairmanship of the Local Government Minister in which the town chairman complained about the burning of garbage.

He said that Nasir Hussain Shah has given orders that wherever such incidents occur, an FIR will be registered against them and they will also be arrested.
