Sindh Govt Assures Online Procurement; Contractor Withdraws Petition from Sindh High Court

Karachi (HRNW)- A petition was filed in the Sindh High Court challenging manual procurement instead of the mandated online procurement process. During the hearing, the Government of Sindh assured the court that online procurement would be implemented. Following this assurance, Bilal Bhutto Construction Company withdrew its petition.

Advocate Hasnain Chauhan, counsel for the petitioner, argued that corruption was being attempted in the Police Lines Sukkur project. He said that the online tendering system was introduced to ensure transparency, but violations of that system were ongoing.

During the proceedings, a contractor revealed that to avoid NAB (National Accountability Bureau) action, project values were deliberately kept below Rs. 500 million.

The petitioner alleged that illegal tactics were being used to exclude them from the tendering process.

After hearing the government’s statement, the court disposed of the petition upon withdrawal.
