Sindh Government Launches First Biogas-Powered Eco-Friendly Buses in Karachi

Karachi (HRNW)– Senior Minister for Transport of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has announced that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, the procurement of eco-friendly buses running on biogas is being officially launched in Karachi.

During a meeting with a high-level delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), he said that it is the priority of the Sindh government that these buses be equipped with modern technology, ITS (Intelligent Transport System) and that their service quality is in line with international standards.

He added that work is also being started soon on the biogas plant project in Karachi, which will promote the use of eco-friendly energy and the use of biogas and electric (EV) vehicles will significantly reduce environmental pollution in the city.

The ADB delegation expressed satisfaction with the ongoing transport projects of the Sindh government and assured to provide financial support in the future as well.
