Sindh Cabinet Approves Compensation and Relief Package for Gul Plaza Tragedy Victims

Karachi (HRNW)- The Sindh cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, has approved measures for the victims of the Gul Plaza tragedy. The cabinet expressed deep regret over the incident and formed a sub-committee to provide immediate relief to the victims.

The sub-committee includes provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani and Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar. This committee will review the report of the inquiry committee headed by the Commissioner Karachi and decide further action and course of action in light of it.

The Sindh Chief Minister said that Rs 10 million each will be provided as compensation to the families of the martyrs of the Gul Plaza tragedy. Rs 500,000 each is being paid to the affected shopkeepers through the Commissioner for kitchen and utility expenses.

The cabinet has also approved providing interest-free loans of Rs 10 million each to the affected shopkeepers so that they can restart their businesses. The Sindh government will also bear the responsibility of the interest due.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that all affected shopkeepers will be provided with shop facilities to start their business within two months and the government will take all possible steps for the protection and convenience of shopkeepers.
