Karachi (HRNW)– In the Sindh Assembly, Jamaat-e-Islami presented a resolution seeking to increase fines for e-challans. However, the resolution was rejected by the Speaker after objections were raised by PPP’s Sharjeel Memon.

Sharjeel Memon argued that the matter is already under court consideration, questioning why it was brought to the Assembly. He added that while fines are lower in Punjab, Karachi collects higher fines, and stressed that the government prioritizes human lives over revenue from fines.
The Speaker remarked that the resolution misguided the Assembly by bringing a pending court issue and declared the proceedings null and void. He also mentioned plans to install ATMs in the Assembly soon.
The Sindh Assembly session was adjourned until 10 am on Friday.
