Severe Cold Wave Grips Balochistan as Snowfall and Rain Spell Begins Across Province

Quetta (HRNW)- The mountainous and northern districts of Balochistan have turned into freezing zones as a powerful cold wave has engulfed the entire province, with temperatures dropping several degrees below the freezing point and breaking previous records.

According to reports, a new snow season appears to have started in the valleys of Ziarat, where temperatures have plunged to minus 12 degrees Celsius, accompanied by icy winds.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that a fresh spell of rain and snowfall is beginning from today, which is expected to blanket large parts of the province in white. Heavy snowfall is anticipated in Quetta, Ziarat, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Chaman, Zhob and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, southern districts including Chagai, Kharan, Panjgur, Turbat, Kech, Awaran and Gwadar are likely to experience strong winds and thunderstorms. Authorities have warned that this weather system will further intensify cold conditions across the region.
