Islamabad (HRNW)- The Senate Standing Committee on Health has reviewed the “Electronic Nicotine Delivery System Regulation Bill”, which proposes complete prohibition of selling vapes to individuals under 18 and recommends strict penalties for violations.
Sponsored by Senator Sarmad Ali, the bill includes the following key provisions:
- Ban on vape sales within 50 meters of schools and colleges.
- Prohibition of vaping in public places, parks, and government offices.
- Complete ban on vape advertisements on TV and social media.
- Nicotine concentration limited to 40mg/ml.
- Mandatory clear warning labels on all vape packaging.
- Fines of Rs. 50,000 and legal action for violators.
- Mandatory age verification systems for companies selling vapes online.
The proposed legislation aims to protect youth from nicotine addiction, limit public exposure to vaping, and ensure compliance through strict regulatory measures.
