Lahore (HRNW)– A by-election has been scheduled for the general seat of the Senate that fell vacant after the death of Senator Irfan Siddiqui.
According to the spokesperson for the Election Commissioner Punjab, candidates may submit their nomination papers at the office of the Returning Officer from December 4 to December 5, 2025. The list of nominated candidates will be published on December 6, 2025.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed by December 8, 2025, while appeals against acceptance or rejection may be filed until December 10, 2025.
The last date for decisions on appeals has been set as December 12, 2025, and a revised list of candidates will be issued on December 13, 2025.
Candidates may withdraw their nomination papers until December 15, 2025.
Polling will take place on December 24, 2025, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, inside the Provincial Assembly of Punjab.
Nomination papers will be received at the Returning Officer’s Office, 10 Court Street, Lahore, on December 4 and 5.
