Moscow (HRNW)– An AN-22 military transport plane crashed during a test flight in Russia’s Ivanovo region. The Russian Defense Ministry said the plane was on a check flight after repairs were completed on Tuesday when it crashed.

The state-run TASS news agency reported that there were seven people on board, but there was no immediate word on their condition.
The Defense Ministry said in a statement that the plane crashed in an uninhabited area, causing no casualties. Search and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene of the crash immediately after the incident, while an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
The Ivanovo region is located about 200 kilometers east of Moscow. The crash has raised new questions about the Russian Air Force’s safety measures and repair system.
