Karachi (HRNW) – A serious drug-related scandal has come to light in the CIA’s Specialized Investigation Unit, where it has been revealed that a case property worth Rs 280 million was allegedly sold for just Rs 50 million. After the scandal broke out, Sub-Inspector Ijaz Butt and Constable Rehmat have been charged with selling the case property.
It may be recalled that Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar held a press conference recently after the recovery of 508 kilograms of hashish and ice. Later, these serious revelations came to light during the investigation, over which the Home Minister expressed his deep anger.
On the instructions of the Home Minister, a high-level investigation committee headed by DIG Irfan Baloch has been formed, which is investigating every aspect of the matter. According to initial evidence, solid evidence of receiving bribes, vehicles and millions of rupees in this drug sale case has come to light.

During the investigation, drugs sold from the site area and the old vegetable market have also been recovered, while drug dealers associated with this network have been arrested. Moreover, evidence of alteration of case property and forgery has also been found in cases no. 315 to 318/2025.
According to sources, Sub-Inspector Ijaz Butt’s name has also come up in drug trafficking scandals in the past, while an old record of absconding during an Anti-Narcotics Force raid has also come to light.
More police officers and officials are likely to be arrested in the scandal. In view of the seriousness of the matter, the Karachi Police Chief has taken immediate action and suspended DSP Wasif Qureshi and Sub-Inspector Ijaz Butt, while the investigation is ongoing.
