Karachi (HRNW)– Residents of Chanesar Goth have strongly protested against the behavior of the police personnel of Mahmudabad police station posted in the area. According to the residents, the police personnel are busy stopping ordinary people on the roads and streets on a daily basis, questioning them without any reason, repeatedly asking for identification and checking their mobile phones, which is causing great distress to the people of the area.
Residents of the area said that there is no clear legal justification or reason given by the police for this behavior, due to which the citizens are feeling unsafe and harassed. They said that
“The police have made it a habit to stop every other person, which is affecting the daily life of the people.”
Residents have demanded that the higher authorities take immediate notice of the alleged unjustified actions of the police in Chanesar Goth and stop the harassment of the people.
