Caracas (HRNW)- Reports have emerged of US aircraft bombing Venezuela’s Higuerote Airport, after which loud explosions were heard in the capital Caracas and clouds of smoke were seen rising from various locations.
Helicopters are flying in the air over Caracas, while the sounds of explosions are coming from around a military base in the city. According to reports, power supply has been suspended in areas near the military base.
No official details have been released yet regarding the possible casualties and property losses as a result of the attack, while no official statement was immediately released by the Venezuelan government or US authorities.
Security has been tightened in the city in view of the situation and there is concern among the public.
