Quetta (HRNW)- Rain and snowfall continue in various districts of Balochistan, causing a severe cold wave across large parts of the province. Intermittent light to moderate snowfall has paralyzed normal life in Quetta, Kalat, Ziarat, Mastung, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Chaman, Qila Saifullah, Zhob and other upper areas.
On Monday, one person, Liaqat Ali, lost his life and two others were injured when the roof of a house collapsed in the Kulsi Shahuzai Muhammad Shahi Town area of Quetta. Similarly, four people, including a shopkeeper, were injured when the roof of a shop collapsed on Masjid Road in Daki, and they were immediately shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
Due to continuous rain and snowfall, 24 feeders of K-Electric Supply Company (KESCO) in Quetta tripped, resulting in the suspension of electricity in many areas of the city. Citizens also faced severe difficulties due to a significant reduction in gas pressure amid the harsh weather conditions.
