Lahore (HRNW)- The agriculture sector in Punjab is all set for a record wheat production this year. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the Kisan Card introduced by her has completely changed the direction of Punjab’s agriculture and has sown a crop of confidence in the fields.
According to the Chief Minister, loans worth Rs 100 billion have been provided to Punjab farmers so far, out of which Rs 65 billion have been practically used, while Rs 47 billion have been spent on purchasing fertilizers. The sale of urea fertilizer in December changed Punjab’s agricultural history and a new record production of 1.356 million metric tons was set.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that Punjab farmers now have access to capital, modern technology and money available through Kisan Card, and the development of farmers is indispensable for the development of the country.
According to the Chief Minister, the implementation of Kisan Card has not only made it possible to increase production but has also restored confidence in the fields, which will have a direct impact on Pakistan’s economy and agricultural sector.
