Lahore (HRNW)– After the implementation of new traffic rules in Punjab, a historic increase has been recorded in the issuance of driving licenses. According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, licensing facilities are being provided at a fast pace across the province, as a result of which 780,000 citizens have benefited from various licensing services in the last 5 days.

According to statistics, there has been a 911 percent increase in the issuance of driving licenses. Before the amended laws, 25 to 28 thousand licenses were issued daily, while after the new laws, this number has increased many times.
According to the spokesperson:
More than 372,000 citizens got learning licenses
More than 108,000 got regular driving licenses
More than 298,000 got learning, regular and international licenses renewed
While more than 56,000 citizens got their lost licenses reissued
DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir said that due to strict traffic rules, citizens are approaching for licenses in large numbers while the rush at license centers has also increased significantly. He advised citizens to use the online licensing portal to avoid long queues and waiting.
He said that issuance of driving licenses is ongoing across Punjab on merit and transparency, and citizens can easily get facilities through Khidmat Markazes, Licensing Centers and online portals.
