Punjab Government Announces Major Reshuffle in Prison Leadership

Lahore, Pakistan (HRNW)- In line with the Chief Minister of Punjab’s prison reform agenda, the Punjab Home Department has issued orders for a large-scale reshuffle of senior prison officials. These changes are aimed at improving administrative efficiency and oversight within the provincial correctional system.

Under the new directives, Haq Nawaz has been appointed as the Superintendent of District Jail Attock. Concurrently, the former Superintendent of the same jail, Ishtiaq Ahmed Gill, has been suspended and directed to report to the Inspectorate of Prisons Punjab. Other key appointments include Abdul Ghafoor Anjum as Superintendent of Central Jail Faisalabad, Sajid Baig at Central Jail Rawalpindi, and Tipu Sultan at District Jail Mandi Bahauddin.

Further transfers include Sohail Nabi Gill (LODHRAN), Aftab Ahmed (VEHARI), and Imran Navid Ashraf as Additional Superintendent at Central Jail Gujranwala. These administrative changes, issued under the authority of the Home Secretary, are effective immediately and are seen as a move to ensure stricter compliance with human rights standards and prison management protocols.
