Lahore (HRNW)– Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced major steps related to digital surveillance and security across the province to further improve the law and order situation in the province. The Chief Minister has issued orders to install modern digital cameras outside all educational institutions and ensure coverage of CCTV cameras in every city.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the Punjab Police to conduct mock drills in educational institutions in collaboration with the School Education Department, while security guards, entry checking and CCTV systems were declared mandatory for schools and colleges.
Decision to register bus drivers and staff
A decision has also been made to computerize the registration of drivers and staff of buses coming and going from other provinces in Punjab. The Chief Minister directed the police and law enforcement agencies to increase cooperation with the Motorway Police.
Order to further improve digital security in public places
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the Safe City Authority to improve the digital monitoring system in parks across Punjab and conduct a functional review of cameras installed across the province.
She also ordered to connect CCTV cameras installed in homes, markets and commercial centers to the Safe City system.
Instructions to continue combing operations and make action against illegal Afghan residents effective
The Chief Minister ordered to continue combing operations on a regular basis to identify anti-social elements in a timely manner.
It has also been decided to increase contacts with citizens of other provinces present in Punjab to make action against illegal Afghan residents effective.
The Chief Minister directed the DCOs and DPOs to contact local elders in the relevant districts and said that a computerized record of citizens residing in Punjab from other provinces will be compiled so that a clear distinction can be made between illegal Afghan residents and other legal citizens.
Will make Punjab the safest province: Maryam Nawaz
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif issued clear instructions and said:
“No prominent public place in Punjab should be left without digital surveillance. I will not sit with China until Punjab is made the safest province.”
She appealed to the citizens to keep an eye on suspicious people and activities around them and immediately report them to 15.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, expressing satisfaction with the overall law and order situation in the province, directed the police and law enforcement agencies to continue working with missionary spirit.
