Punjab Approves Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill 2026, Allows 16-Year-Olds to Ride Motorcycles

Lahore (HRNW)- The Punjab Assembly Standing Committee on Home Affairs has approved the Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill 2026, under which children below the age of 16 will be allowed to drive motorcycles in Punjab.

The committee has also decided to introduce a juvenile driving permit for minors while approving the proposal to drive motorcycles at the age of 16.

According to the bill, a regular legal framework will be created for motorcyclists aged 16 to 18 to ensure safety measures on the roads and appropriate rules will be formulated for young drivers.
