Rawalpindi (HRNW) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has stated that the Gul Plaza tragedy in Karachi is a consequence of corruption and the government’s callousness.
Speaking to the media near the Marble Factory Checkpoint on Adyala Road, Salman Akram Raja described the incident as not a minor event but a major calamity. He said that PTI will raise its voice at all levels against the negligence and corruption that led to the tragedy.
He assured that PTI will stand with the victims, supporting them until they receive justice and compensation. He also highlighted the absence of fire exits in the affected building, calling it criminal negligence, and said the matter would be raised on all relevant forums. He added that BBC reporters had also observed the situation firsthand.
Regarding the notification of the opposition leader in the National Assembly and Senate, Salman Akram Raja emphasized that issuing the notifications was a constitutional requirement, not a favor, and must be fulfilled as mandated by law.
