Karachi (HRNW)- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi Division held peaceful protests in all seven districts of Karachi against the cruelty and oppression meted out to Imran Khan’s sisters outside Adiala Jail. A large number of party leaders, workers and citizens participated in these protests and expressed solidarity with their leader Imran Khan and his family. The protesters demanded that Imran Khan be released immediately and all acts of political revenge should be stopped.
PTI Karachi Division President Raja Azhar, Senior Vice President Faheem Khan, Information Secretary Fawzia Siddiqui and other divisional and district leaders also participated in the protests. The speakers said that the treatment meted out to Imran Khan and his sisters is not only inhuman but also a serious violation of the Constitution of Pakistan and fundamental human rights.
During the protest outside the Karachi Press Club, the police detained more than 12 PTI workers, however, all the workers were released from different police stations after the intervention of the party’s lawyers. Party leaders strongly condemned the arrest of the workers, terming it as political revenge.
PTI Karachi President Raja Azhar said that the Sindh Police has resorted to fascism to stop the peaceful protest, and this double standard of the law is unacceptable. He added that cruelty towards Imran Khan and his family will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and keeping him in solitary confinement in jail is a violation of the constitution and human rights.
Raja Azhar said that Imran Khan has courageously defended the Islamic world, and attempts are being made to suppress him through false cases, but his morale cannot be broken nor can the struggle for freedom be stopped.
