Rawalpindi (HRNW)- PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar Khan has said that reconciliation is better than hostility with opponents, but if the government extends one hand and punches the other, the situation will not improve. He clarified that there has been no contact with the establishment at present, if there is, it will not be hidden.
Talking to the media at a private housing society checkpoint, Barrister Gauhar said that it is our constitutional and legal right to meet the founder of PTI. He appealed to the government not to make allegations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to present evidence of the allegations made.
Talking about the cases, the PTI Chairman said that the conviction was made in Al-Qadir on January 17, 2025, but the appeal has been pending for a year. The founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi have not yet been granted bail. He said that there is no allegation of corruption against Bushra Bibi, so why was she sentenced?
Gohar Khan further said that the government should join hands to resolve the issues. He announced that his protest will be recorded on February 8 and that this protest will be completely peaceful. He appealed to the people not to take actions like shutter down or blocking the roads.
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said that the notification of the opposition leaders was a constitutional duty, not a favor to anyone. He said that the constitution has been violated in the country, the judiciary has been subdued and elections have become meaningless. He termed the tragedies in Karachi as the result of corruption and callousness and hinted at raising the issue of isolating the founder of PTI at the global level.
PTI leader Shehryar Afridi said that he is not standing for positions but for the ideology of the founder of PTI and wants an answer as to why the meeting is not being held.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Shafi Jan said that the call of February 8 will not be withdrawn until the return of the new election mandate. He said that Mahmood Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas have been elected as opposition leaders, they have not been selected but elected. PTI workers will continue the movement without any result and the struggle will continue continuously.
