Islamabad (HRNW)- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the National Message of Peace Committee plays an extremely important role in the country’s current circumstances, adding that the platform can be used to promote unity, tolerance and harmony.
Addressing members of the National Message of Peace Committee, the prime minister said that religious scholars and minority communities played a full part in the creation of Pakistan and millions sacrificed for the homeland at the time of independence. He said the purpose of Pakistan’s founding was to ensure equal rights for all without discrimination.
The prime minister added that Pakistan is moving toward development and prosperity and that the country has been blessed with vast natural resources worth billions of dollars. By utilizing these resources, he said, poverty and unemployment can be eliminated and the country can be freed from debt — a difficult task, but not impossible.
Referring to a major success by the Pakistan Armed Forces in May 2025, he said the armed forces delivered a decisive victory in the battle for justice under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
He also stressed the challenge of terrorism, saying that 100,000 Pakistanis have been martyred in the war against terrorism and that martyrs from all four provinces have watered the homeland with their blood. The prime minister asserted that Pakistan has not only sacrificed but has also played a role in protecting the world from terrorism.
Shahbaz Sharif warned that there are links between the TTP and TTA and that terrorist groups are being provided resources by hostile actors, but he vowed that, as in the past, terrorists will be uprooted and thrown into the Arabian Sea away from Pakistan’s borders.
