Islamabad (HRNW)- An important meeting was held between Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi at the Prime Minister’s House, Islamabad. At the beginning of the meeting, there was a one-on-one conversation between the two leaders, after which a meeting was held at the delegation level in which various issues between the federation and the province were discussed in detail.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Advisor to the Finance Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muzammil Aslam also participated in the meeting at the delegation level. The meeting considered the problems facing the province, public welfare projects and measures to prevent terrorism.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi briefed the Prime Minister on the ongoing development projects, public problems and the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The steps being taken to eliminate terrorism and establish peace were also discussed.
According to the statement, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif emphasized the development and prosperity of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that cooperation between the federation and the provincial government is indispensable. He said that the provincial government will have to take more effective steps to improve law and order and strengthen provincial institutions. The Prime Minister made it clear that the provincial government will have to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities for the establishment of peace and public welfare.
The Prime Minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is an important unit of the federation and the federation will continue to make full efforts for the development of the province while remaining within its jurisdiction. He said that the federal government is following the vision of taking all the provinces together and implementing the vision of equal development.
Shahbaz Sharif further said that the federal and provincial governments will continue joint efforts for the complete eradication of terrorism. He also stressed that effective steps should be taken for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the health and education sectors. The Prime Minister said that the federal government has always been striving for the betterment of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and national unity, stability and prosperity can be achieved through mutual consultation and cooperation.
