PM Shehbaz Sharif Welcomes Arafa Karim Foundation, Reaffirms Commitment to Making Pakistan an IT Hub

Lahore (HRNW) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the establishment of a foundation in the name of renowned IT expert late Arafa Karim Randhawa by her parents and said that all possible support will be ensured at the government level, adding that the government is working day and night to make Pakistan an IT hub in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Samina Amjad and Amjad Karim Randhawa, parents of late Arafa Karim Randhawa, along with Tabinda Islam, Chief Executive of the Arafa Karim Foundation. On this occasion, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Arafa Karim for her remarkable services in the field of IT at a young age and for bringing international recognition to Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said that in recognition of Arafa Karim’s lasting contributions to the IT sector, the IT Tower in Lahore has been named after her and is now known as Arafa Karim Tower. He emphasized that providing international-standard IT education and training to Pakistani youth is among the top priorities of the government.

He further said that the government is encouraging youth to acquire IT education, skills training and entrepreneurship in the IT sector, and that laptops are again being distributed this year to high-performing students. The Prime Minister described the establishment of the Arafa Karim Foundation for IT development as a highly commendable initiative and assured full government support.
