Karachi (HRNW)- Honorary Consul General of Morocco in Pakistan, Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, has said that Pakistan’s fashion industry can play a vital role in strengthening the national economy by earning significant foreign exchange. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at his residence in honor of internationally renowned Pakistani fashion designer Mahmood Bhatti. The event was organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Film and TV Journalists Association.
The ceremony was attended by Member of the National Assembly and Honorary Consul General of Yemen Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, film star Javed Sheikh, fashion designers Nadeem Moazji and Hameed Aslam, Azhar Razia, Zulfiqara Aliputta, Chairman Pakistan Film and TV Journalists Association Athar Javed Sufi, and President Abdul Wasi Qureshi.
Mirza Ishtiaq Baig further stated that in collaboration with Mahmood Bhatti, plans are underway to organize Pakistani fashion shows in Morocco and introduce Moroccan fashion in Pakistan to promote the country’s fashion industry at the international level. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said that Mahmood Bhatti has brought global recognition to Pakistan, especially in the field of fashion designing, and serves as an inspiration for the younger generation.
Film star Javed Sheikh praised Mahmood Bhatti as a self-made personality who is also well-known in the film industry. Athar Javed Sufi and Abdul Wasi Qureshi said that they share a long-standing relationship with Mahmood Bhatti and always organize ceremonies in his honor whenever he visits Karachi.
Mahmood Bhatti, who attended the event along with his wife, said that the love and appreciation he receives in Karachi strengthen his passion and commitment to work. He added that Pakistan’s fashion industry has made remarkable progress and that Karachi, the UAE, and Europe offer huge potential markets through international fashion shows. Fashion designer Nadeem Moazji also highlighted the growing popularity of Pakistani men’s and women’s fashion and emphasized the importance of holding fashion shows in Europe and Dubai in collaboration with Mahmood Bhatti.
Later, Mahmood Bhatti and other guests were hosted by the Baig family, where a special Moroccan-style ceremony was organized and tea was served in a traditional Moroccan setting.
