Pakistan Sudan Explore Health Sector Cooperation with New Partnership Opportunities

Islamabad (HRNW) Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal met with a high-level delegation led by the Federal Secretary Health of Sudan, which included Federal Secretary Health Hamid Yaqoob and senior officials of the Ministry of Health. The meeting discussed in detail the prospects for enhancing cooperation in the health sector between the two countries and new opportunities for joint partnerships.

The Sudanese delegation briefed Pakistan on the challenges faced by its country’s health sector and its comprehensive strategy for the next five years. According to the delegation, Sudan has prepared an outline of 45 major health projects, for which Pakistan’s cooperation was requested in terms of medical equipment, modern technology, restoration of solar energy in health centers and promotion of institutional partnerships.

Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen cooperation with Sudan and said that Pakistan will provide all possible support for training of medical personnel, technical assistance, regulatory reforms and promotion of medical tourism.

The meeting concluded with a consensus that the two countries will continue to take joint steps to implement effective coordination, long-term partnership, and sustainable cooperation.
