Pakistan Set to Introduce New Currency Notes, Awaiting Federal Government Approval

Lahore (HRNW)- Preparations for introducing new currency notes have been completed in Pakistan, however, the State Bank of Pakistan is awaiting the permission of the federal government to approve the final design of the notes.

The Security Printing Corporation has said that the new currency will be equipped with modern and effective security features, however, the final designs of the notes have not been received yet.

Officials say that the printing of the new currency will start as soon as the government approval is received, which will require at least two months. Modern machinery is already available for this purpose.

According to Amir Shams, Senior Manager Printing of the Security Printing Corporation, consultations regarding the printing of the new currency between the State Bank and the Security Printing Corporation have been completed, and practical work will start as soon as permission is received.
