Dera Ismail Khan (HRNW) On the 58th Foundation Day of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi issued a special message paying rich tribute to the party’s historic role, leadership, and democratic contributions.

In his message, the Governor honored the unparalleled struggle and sacrifices of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, describing them as icons of democracy whose legacy continues to inspire the nation. He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party is not merely a political party but a symbol of hope for the people of Pakistan, a guardian of democracy, and the voice of marginalized communities.

Governor Fasial Karim Kundi stated that the vision of the party’s founding chairman, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, his democratic movement, and the unanimously passed Constitution of 1973 are shining pillars of PPP’s political legacy which strengthened the federation and defined Pakistan’s constitutional direction. He emphasized that history bears witness to the fact that whenever Pakistan faced dictatorship, suppression of civil liberties, or denial of fundamental rights, the PPP stood at the forefront. From the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD) to the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD), from the Charter of Democracy to the 18th Amendment and the National Action Plan, the PPP has consistently advanced Pakistan’s democratic journey.

Governor Kundi reiterated that the PPP has always been the representative party of workers, farmers, women, minorities, and the underprivileged. Social justice, economic equality, inclusion, and empowerment have remained the core principles of the party’s struggle.

Highlighting the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he praised his democratic, progressive, and peace oriented political vision. He said Bilawal Bhutto’s youthful and dynamic leadership has infused new energy, ideological clarity, and direction into the party, making him a symbol of hope for a brighter and balanced future for Pakistan.

Calling the Foundation Day a moment of renewal, Governor Kundi stressed that it is a day to reaffirm the commitment to democracy, federalism, social justice, tolerance, minority rights, and women’s empowerment.

He urged all party workers and supporters to maintain unity in their ranks, prioritize public service, and continue striving for a tolerant, progressive, enlightened, and democratic Pakistan.

This is the mission of the PPP, the trust of our martyrs, and the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he concluded.
