Islamabad (HRNW)– The Pakistan Navy’s rescue mission to help flood victims in Sri Lanka is continuing for the third day. A helicopter on board a Pakistan Navy ship has evacuated a family stranded for five days to a safe place during the rescue operation. The affected family also included a 7-month-old baby.

According to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Navy, with the cooperation of the local administration, civilians trapped in high and fast flood waters were rescued from their rooftops. Pakistan Navy ship SAIF is carrying out relief and rescue operations for flood victims during its deployment in Sri Lanka.
The spokesperson further said that these humanitarian activities of the Pakistan Navy are a reflection of the deep friendship, regional cooperation and solidarity between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
