Pakistan Extends Retirement Age of Government Employees from 60 to 63 Years

Islamabad (HRNW)- The Government of Pakistan has decided to extend the retirement age of government employees by three years. Now, those employees whose retirement age was 60 years will be allowed to continue working till the age of 63 years.

This decision has been taken in light of the Finance Division/Establishment letter No. 2025/529-A-5-Est and after the approval of the government. It is applicable to all federal ministries, divisions and attached departments.

According to the government, the aim of this move is to benefit from the experience and professionalism of senior employees and ensure better delivery of public services.

This notification will come into effect from January 1, 2026.
