Karachi (HRNW) – In response to the Nipa incident, the BRT Red Line administration has clarified that no BRT activities were taking place near the site of the tragedy. The BRT manager stated that the location of the incident is at a significant distance from the BRT Red Line construction works, and no excavation or construction obstructions were present.

According to the BRT manager, the road construction in the area is complete and operational, and the management or maintenance of the sewage or drainage system does not fall under BRT’s jurisdiction. No construction activities were ongoing at or around the incident site.
BRT officials emphasized that all ongoing projects are initiated only after obtaining the necessary NOCs from relevant authorities, and these authorities are fully informed prior to the start of work. They further clarified that the parking area where the tragedy occurred is being used as a store, and linking the incident to the BRT Red Line project is a serious misunderstanding.
