New York (HRNW)– New York Mayor Zahran Mamdani has strongly condemned the alleged US attack on Venezuela and the announcement of the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, calling it a serious violation of international law.
In a statement posted on X, Mayor Mamdani said he had been briefed on the US operation and the plan to detain President Maduro and his wife Celia Flores in federal custody in New York City.
He added that a unilateral attack on a sovereign nation is tantamount to war and constitutes a clear violation of both federal and international laws.
