New Karachi Town Finalizes Shab-e-Barat Arrangements, Municipal Commissioner Directs Authorities to Ensure Cleanliness and Lighting

Karachi (HRNW)- In view of the arrival of Shab-e-Barat in New Karachi Town, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner Munawar Hussain Mallah to finalize the local government arrangements. In this meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the preparations for the arrival of pilgrims and civic amenities on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat. The meeting expressed its determination to improve cleanliness, paving of roads, lighting arrangements in cemeteries and surrounding areas. The meeting was attended by Senior Administrator Director Shamuna Sadaf, B&R Department Jahanzeb Khan, Faisal Sagheer, Additional Director Sanitation Mushtaq Khan, Gardens Director Azmat Ali Shah, Javed Jamal, M&D Department XEN Shafqat, Wajid Khan and Irfan Khan and other officers of the relevant departments. On this occasion, Municipal Commissioner Munawar Hussain Mallah directed the officers and said that Shab-e-Barat is a holy night in which citizens visit cemeteries and shrines in large numbers, pray for their deceased and seek forgiveness. It is the primary responsibility of the local government to provide a clean, safe environment to the public. Cleanliness, proper lighting arrangement and paving of transportation routes in cemeteries should be ensured at all costs. He further said that special attention should be paid to the surroundings and main roads of cemeteries, cleaning of bushes, immediate removal of dirt and fixing of street lights should be completed on priority basis. No negligence or delay of any kind will be tolerated. The Municipal Commissioner strictly instructed the officers to complete all the arrangements before Shab-e-Barat so that the pilgrims do not face any kind of difficulty or inconvenience. He clarified that the presence and supervision of officers in the field will be mandatory and all the concerned departments will fulfill their responsibilities with mutual cooperation.
