Islamabad (HRNW)- It has been revealed that power distribution companies have stopped registering new net metering applications, prompting the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to take strict notice and seek explanations from all DISCOs.
According to HRNW News, Nepra has issued notices to all DISCOs, including K-Electric, stating that it has come to the authority’s attention that new net metering registrations have been halted. The regulator termed the suspension of new applications a matter of serious concern and a clear violation of existing laws and regulations.
Declaring the issue as highly urgent, Nepra has directed all DISCOs to submit complete details and explanations within three working days.
