Karachi (HRNW) – In an effective operation against criminal elements, Kalakot Police in Lyari arrested the nephew of notorious Lyari gang war leader Rehman Dakait along with his accomplice during a robbery. The operation was conducted on January 3, 2026.
According to police, the arrested suspects have been identified as Haris son of Abdul Rahim alias Khanra (nephew of Rehman Dakait) and Rashid Ali son of Ali Muhammad, both of whom are involved in street crimes and armed robberies.
During the operation, police recovered a stolen motorcycle (registration number KTB-0057, make 125, engine number Z172661, chassis number EC854825), which was listed as stolen in FIR No. 05/2026 under Sections 392/397/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) registered at Kalakot Police Station.
Further investigation led to the recovery of a 30-bore pistol with a magazine and six live rounds from the possession of Haris. Consequently, a separate case (FIR No. 06/2026) was registered against him under Section 23(i) of the Sindh Arms Act, 2013.
The incident occurred at Faqeer Muhammad Dara Khan Road, Cheel Chowk, Kalakot, Lyari.
According to police records, Haris had previously been involved in FIR No. 104/2024, while Rashid Ali has a criminal history with FIRs No. 394/2021, 128/2023, and 277/2025, all registered at Kalakot Police Station.
Police officials stated that further investigation is underway, and raids are being conducted to apprehend other members of the suspects’ criminal network.
