MQM Leader Kahkashan Khan (alias Kahkashan Haider) Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison in the U.S. — What Were the Charges?

Karachi (HRNW) According to social media reports, MQM Coordination Committee member Kahkashan Haider has been sentenced to eight years in prison in the United States.

In earlier statements, DIG Hameed alleged that Kahkashan Haider had formed hitman groups that worked in collaboration with India’s intelligence agency RAW and anti-Pakistan Sindhi and Baloch outfits to target law enforcement officials, police personnel, political figures, and religious leaders, particularly in Karachi.

Colonel Shabbir added that these groups were allegedly tasked with assassinating individuals whose deaths could spark sectarian unrest in the city.

According to DIG Hameed, the plan surfaced during interviews with arrested MQM hitmen from Karachi and other parts of Sindh. Investigations revealed that new assassination teams were being reassembled under Kahkashan Haider’s supervision.

At the time, Kahkashan Khan denied all allegations, calling them politically motivated and baseless.
