Lahore (HRNW)- A heartbreaking incident of a mother and daughter falling into an open sewage manhole near Bhati Gate, Data Darbar area of Lahore has shaken the city.
It should be noted that earlier, Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari had termed the incident as “fake”, however, DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran has confirmed that the body of the woman Sadia has been recovered from the outfall road disposal, while the rescue operation to search for her innocent daughter is still ongoing.
DIG Operations told the media that as soon as the call was received on 1122, all the relevant agencies were immediately mobilized and the entire incident was thoroughly investigated. With the help of Safe City cameras and CCTV footage, it was also clear that all the points stated by the woman’s husband were correct.
According to rescue sources, the search for the girl is ongoing and all relevant teams are conducting operations in the area to safely retrieve the young girl.
