Quetta (HRNW) — A sudden fire broke out in a private plaza located on Prince Road, reducing several shops inside the building to ashes. According to rescue officials, the fire has been brought under control, and cooling operations are underway.
Rescue sources reported that dozens of shops were affected by the blaze. A joint operation was carried out by six fire brigade vehicles and four PDMA fire trucks to extinguish the flames. Fireballs were also used during the firefighting efforts.
The plaza housed various shops, including computer, mobile phone, and garment outlets, raising concerns about heavy financial losses.
According to the Chief Fire Officer, preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit. The flames also engulfed nearby electric transformers and power lines, which made the firefighting operation more challenging.
Officials confirmed that no casualties have been reported, while an assessment of the damage and further investigation is currently in progress.
