Karachi (HRNW)- A major fire broke out in a warehouse located in the Landhi Sherpao Colony area, destroying stored goods, while fortunately no casualties were reported in the warehouse incident.
According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the fire erupted in an old warehouse situated near Masjid Aqsa in Landhi Sherpao Colony. Fire brigade teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. The warehouse contained large quantities of foam and paper, which intensified the blaze. After successfully bringing the fire under control, cooling operations were initiated.
Officials from Quaidabad Police Station, Rescue 1122, police teams and other relevant agencies were also present at the site. Police stated that cooling efforts are still underway and investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a fire broke out in a house located in Malir Khokhrapar No. 2, resulting in injuries to two people. Rescue officials confirmed that the burn victims were shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of both fire incidents in Landhi Sherpao Colony and Malir Khokhrapar. He sought a detailed report regarding the fire that occurred in a school operating from a residential house in Malir Khokhrapar.
The Commissioner Karachi informed the Chief Minister that the fire brigade responded promptly and brought the fire under control. It was also reported that two children were injured in the Malir incident and residents were present in the house at the time of the fire.
The Chief Minister directed authorities to ensure immediate medical assistance for the injured and to speed up rescue operations. He also ordered a thorough inquiry into the establishment of a school in a residential building. Expressing concern over the warehouse fire in Landhi Sherpao Colony, he instructed officials to investigate the cause of the incident and identify any negligence.
